How can HR improve the remote work experience and how can they recognize remote workers?

How can HR improve the remote work experience and how can they recognize remote workers?
What are some ways HR can improve their work from home experience and productivity?

So here's the problem. Hidden talents and skills are hard to discover when people work remotely.

When you're a new employee or untapped skills don't get visibility it can reduce the chance of being seen by people outside of your core team. This can translate into missed opportunities to help others in the enterprise. Democratized employee visibility is hard in a remote work environment. Here are 3 idea to make the remote work experience more rewarding.

  • Make it ok and comfortable for remote workers to share new things they have learned. Set weekly TEDx type calls for people to share what they are learning.
  • Assuming enterprise communication is transparent, give remote work employees an opportunity to propose ideas that they think might help other parts of the business.
  • Invite leaders and directors from other parts of the business to update your team on their focus and priorities. Bring back the brown-bag-lunch series, virtually.
  • Give your team freedom to share examples of that they value most and see amongst the team, especially when it involves employees operating in a remote or hybrid model.

Storytelling is an amazing tool to promote the employee experience.
‍

HR/managers/employers can improve the remote work experience by focusing on storytelling. Storytelling is a strategic tool for employee engagement, appreciation, knowledge sharing and connectivity. Each month make a point to collect stories related to your values, service differentiators, etc. Ask your content marketing, recruitment marketing and HR teams to collaborate on campaigns to collect stories that spotlight what happens behind the scenes. Stories are a great way to keep culture intact and teams connected; they remind employees that their work matters.

GoodSeeker is the first platform dedicated to collecting and sharing remote employee success stories at scale. Using GoodSeeker HR/managers/employers can easily reinforce the values behind their employer brand, recognize remote workers, and keep teams engaged at the same time.
